LEFAXIME-P is a combination medication containing Lornoxicam (8mg) and Paracetamol (325mg). It is used to relieve pain, inflammation, and swelling in various musculoskeletal conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It is also effective in managing general body pain, including back pain, muscle pain, dental pain, earache, sore throat, and headaches. Lornoxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that blocks the action of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, which are responsible for the production of prostaglandins—chemicals in the body that cause pain, inflammation, and fever. Paracetamol (acetaminophen) works primarily as a pain reliever and fever reducer by acting on the brain’s pain and temperature-regulating centers.
