SILAxone-SB-1.5GM
Composition
Ceftriaxone 1gm + Sulbactam 500mg
Description & Effects
SILAxone-SB 1.5GM is a combination antibiotic injection containing Ceftriaxone, a third-generation cephalosporin, and Sulbactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. This dual-action formulation is used to treat a wide range of severe bacterial infections by not only eliminating bacteria but also overcoming bacterial resistance mechanisms. Ceftriaxone works by inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, which is essential for bacterial survival. Sulbactam, on the other hand, prevents certain bacteria from breaking down the antibiotic by inhibiting beta-lactamase enzymes. By combining these two agents, SILAxone-SB becomes effective against both susceptible and resistant strains of bacteria, offering a broader and more reliable antibacterial action. This injection is commonly prescribed for respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, and septicemia. It is especially useful in hospital-acquired infections or infections where resistance to standard antibiotics is suspected. SILAxone-SB 1.5GM is administered intravenously or intramuscularly by a healthcare professional. It typically provides symptom relief within a few doses, but the full course should always be completed as prescribed to ensure complete eradication of the infection and prevent resistance. Mild side effects such as injection site pain, diarrhea, or skin rash may occur. Proper medical supervision ensures safe and effective use.
