VERDOcef-200
Composition
Cefpodoxime Proxetil 200mg DT
Description & Effects
VERDOcef-200 contains Cefpodoxime 200 mg, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic formulated as a dispersible tablet. It is used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections by inhibiting the formation of the bacterial cell wall, leading to the destruction of the bacteria. This medicine is effective against infections in multiple parts of the body, including the lungs (such as pneumonia and bronchitis), ear (otitis media), urinary tract, abdomen, skin and soft tissues, bones and joints, bloodstream, heart (endocarditis), and even in serious infections like meningitis. Because of its broad-spectrum activity, it is frequently prescribed in both outpatient and hospital settings. VERDOcef-200 DT (Dispersible Tablet) is typically taken twice daily, with or without food, and can be dissolved in water for ease of administration. Most patients begin to feel better within a few days of starting treatment. However, it is essential to complete the entire course of medication as prescribed, even if symptoms improve early. Stopping treatment too soon may result in reinfection or antibiotic resistance. Common side effects include nausea, mild diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, or rash. It should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems or a history of allergy to penicillin or cephalosporins. Always follow your doctor’s instructions and dosage guidelines closely.
